WPPI: Las Vegas!

February 27, 2011

There we were surrounded by 18,000 professional wedding and portrait photographers, including Jasmine Star, Jerry Ghionis, Jesh de Rox, Jose Villa and Nigel Barker at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It was overwhelming to say the least! But as the week progressed we realized that even among some of the top photographers in the world- we had confidence in ourselves, knowing that what sets us apart is that each of us as individuals are unique. No one else can be you. This was the message that was repeated to us by each of the world renown photographers that spoke at WPPI. What a fun reminder to us that our “job” is to capture the uniqueness of individuals!

Here are a few other tips we learned from our trip:

-If you pack peanut butter in your carry-on, it will be confiscated by airport security.

-If you wear high heel shoes on the Las Vegas strip, you will lose skin on your both of your feet.

-Starbucks coffee and fried rice IS a complete meal.

-If you see a conga-line…join in! You might win an ipod.

To the photographers who inspired us- thanks for opening up your hearts and being honest about your business…we learned so much! To our new friends- we can’t wait to see you at WPPI again next year!
