Phew baby, what a week it has been! Last Saturday Rob and I flew out to Vegas for the annual Wedding & Portrait Photographers International conference.

I remember packing up for WPPI and trying to prepare to learn as much as possible. I wanted to come away with new knowledge about the wedding photography industry, so I spent hours trying to prepare our schedule so we could get the most out of the week. As soon as we arrived to WPPI, everything I prepared went out the window. We realized the value and joy in focusing on other people and the incredible relationships all around us. The events were of course helpful and we learned a lot, but at the end of every day Rob and I were most delighted with the fun relationships all around us.

Rob and I had the joy of getting to hang out with Mikaela and Shane during the week. I got to meet Mikaela at Jasmine Star’s workshop a few summers ago. We had planned to meet up for lunch, but our lunch date turned into 2 days of hanging out and tackling WPPI together. It was so fun to see our business minded husbands have so much in common. Mikaela and I laughed realizing how similar our worlds are, and we even had time to dream together about where we want to take our businesses. This couple is a pure joy to be with and Rob and I feel so blessed to have genuine friends in the industry. Keep an eye out on this girl, she has wonderful things in store and will be going far! Speaking of, she is on her way to photograph a wedding in the Virgin Islands!! Boo-Ya!

A serious thank you to Brian Wurzell & Katelyn James for leading many photographers in Worship at Photographers UNITE. It was an honor to worship in a room of hundreds of talented photographers!

Rob and I got to dance until 2:00 am at the Airplane & Blazers party with our awesome new photog friends Meg, Scott, and Janine. We met them over drinks thanks to the wonderful Showit community! We also got to catch up with an old talented friend Lily Glass.

We are over joyed and couldn’t be more stoked about the people we go to meet! Oh…and excuse the iphone photos 🙂
